Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Welcoming the momentum of new student admissions in 2022, the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) held an online UNESA Virtual Campus Expo (UVCE) on Monday, February 21, 2022. On that occasion, the deans introduced their respective faculties, study programs and advantages. .
The socialization of new student admissions will take place over the next three days. In the first session, Prof. Dr. Madlazim, M.Sc., Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) together with the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Fida Rachmadiarti, M.Kes., and the Head of the Mathematics Department, Dr. Raden Sulaiman, M.Si conveyed many things about his faculty.
FMIPA UNESA oversees a total of nine study programs. Five education study programs and four non-education study programs. The education study programs at FMIPA are;
- Biology Education S-1 Study Program
- Chemistry Education S-1 Study Program
- S-1 Physics Education Study Program
- Mathematics Education S-1 Study Program
- S-1 Science Education Study Program
Meanwhile, the four non-educational study programs are:
- Biology S-1 Study Program
- S-1 Mathematics Study Program
- S-1 Physics Study Program
- Chemistry S-1 Study Program
Prof. Madlazim stated that the nine FMIPA study programs had received A accreditation and even five of them had obtained the international accreditation, ASIIN. “Insha Allah, four other study programs are following towards international accreditation. This is our commitment to bring UNESA and its graduates to international standards,” he said.

Meanwhile, Fida Rachmadiarti explained that FMIPA students had the opportunity to reach various career opportunities supported by the MBKM learning model. "Students have more opportunities in various fields of work such as research institutions or non-educational institutions," he added.
He added, FMIPA is one of the faculties that have study programs with high interest. The number of registrants from year to year always increases significantly. It is not surprising that the study programs at FMIPA are among those with tough competition.
FMIPA students and lecturers succeeded in presenting a variety of innovations, including Joko Tingkir, a tsunami early detection application. While the achievements at home and abroad can not be doubted. Moreover, the students often won in various national and even international competitions.
Fida continued, FMIPA graduates according to the characteristics of their study programs, most of them became educators, whether they were teachers or lecturers. Then become researchers and entrepreneurs in their respective fields. Then for the Chemistry and Biology study program, many have become laboratory experts, analysts and quality control in the company.
Raden Sulaiman also explained that FMIPA human resources are the mainstay in the country. They are often trusted to be expert speakers in various government programs, other universities and partners. "This is one of the indicators, FMIPA has superior and quality human resources," he said.
FMIPA has a learning system based on theory and practicum which is supported by various main and supporting facilities that are qualified. There is a complete laboratory and practical equipment. For the purposes of studying outside the campus, FMIPA also has many collaborative networks with various domestic and foreign institutions, government and private sectors. “If you enter FMIPA, it will feel like studying abroad.
