Unesa.ac.id., Surabaya-Surabaya State University (Unesa) received an award from the Federation Internationale de Basketball (FIBA) or the international basketball federation upper. its contribution in the development of basketball in Indonesia.
Award received by Deputy Rector 3 of UNESA, Bambang Sigit Widodo from Ingo Weiss as Treasurer Fiba, accompanied by Patrik Meyer as Chief Operating Officer of FIBA, and Rufiana, Country Manager of FIBA Indonesia at Jogjakarta Plaza Hotel, on Thursday, May 7, 2025.
Ardy Kusuma said that this achievement was the result of UNESA's commitment as a tertiary institution that consistently developed Sport Science and making sports, especially basketball, as a means of character formation and improving the quality of the younger generation. According to him, Sport Science is the foundation in creating a sustainable and impact coaching system.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor 3 in the field of research, innovation, ranking, publication and science center, Bambang Sigit Widodo emphasized that basketball has strategic value in supporting the growth of healthy generations physically, mentally, and adaptively. Fitness, but also has the potential to form an important fighting power and togetherness for the future of the nation's children, "he explained.
According to him, this award is an appreciation for the dedication and contribution of UNESA as Center of Gravity in the field of Sport Science in Indonesia. This award is a spirit to continue to provide the best for the progress of the homeland sports. []
