Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya–The Covid-19 virus pandemic that is endemic in the country has yet to end. Sad news came one after another along with the ambulance siren sounding here and there. Efforts are born and continue to be pursued, inner efforts must also be carried out. In order to ask Allah SWT for help so that this nation will quickly recover from the pandemic, the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) held an Istigotsah Kubro and Joint Prayer for Unesa and Indonesia on Saturday (24/07/2021).
The event which was held virtually was attended by the Chancellor of UNESA Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes and the entire UNESA academic community and presented KH. Marzuki Mustamar, M.Ag., and KH. Syafrudin Sharif. In his remarks, the Chancellor of Unesa revealed that the event was an effort to ask for help from God Almighty for the healing of this nation from the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition, through the joint prayer, it is also to strengthen each other and ask for help, strength and healing for the UNESA academic community and the community in general who are struggling to recover from Covid-19 and its variants. "We also pray for the brothers who went before us that their good deeds will be accepted and get a noble place with Him. The bereaved family may be given fortitude," he hoped.
The man who is usually called Cak Hasan advised the entire UNESA academic community to continue to apply health protocols wherever they are. In addition, implementing a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS), adequate rest, eating healthy food and exercising regularly or doing healthy-happy exercise at home.
"Prokes, vaccines are born efforts that must also be accompanied by always increasing faith through worship and drawing closer to Allah SWT," he said. He informed that in the near future UNESA will hold vaccinations for the UNESA academic community. The plan is that there will be around 6,000 vaccine quotas provided. In addition, there will also be a plasma donor program for those in need.
The istighotsah event was led directly by KH. Syafrudin Syarif as Head of Syuriyah PWNU East Java, followed by the participants either via Zoom or Youtube Official Unesa. KH. Marzuki Mustamar, M.Ag., as the Chair of the East Java PWNU and the Head of the Sabilurrosyad Islamic Boarding School in Malang, said that under the current conditions, do not let excessive fear have a negative impact on yourself. "Let's fight this pandemic wisely, not only with immunity, but also with faith and draw closer and spiritually improve ourselves to Allah SWT," he said. (Hasna/zam)
