
Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini provided reinforcement in a discussion forum with a number of UNESA disability experts
Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA--Surabaya State University (UNESA) together with the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) held a reflective discussion activity with the theme "Holistic, Integrative and Inclusive Handling of Persons with Disabilities." This event was opened by the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini at the Ministry of Social Affairs Office, Jakarta on Monday, June 24 2024.
This discussion not only discusses theory, but also provides practical matters regarding the implementation of handling disabilities. Not only that, this activity also discusses reflection in the context of technician development in the Ministry of Social Affairs area in the realm of disabilities.
Prof. Dr. Budiyanto, M.Pd., Director of the UNESA Center for Excellence in Disabilities (PUD), said that this collaboration between UNESA and the Ministry of Social Affairs also introduced the concept of innovative handling of people with disabilities through the UNESA Information System for Handling People with Disabilities (SIPISA).
"SIPISA "This is a web-based platform, designed to help trainers determine appropriate programs for people with disabilities," he explained.
This trust began with the Ministry of Social Affairs' visit to UNESA, where the Ministry of Social Affairs asked UNESA to increase the competency of trainers in its territory. The UNESA Center for Disability Excellence prepared the competency development design.
The proposed design is handling people with disabilities in a holistic, integrative and inclusive manner, which is the big theme of this program. This handling concept has been approved by the Ministry of Social Affairs and its implementation was conveyed by executive officials within the Ministry of Social Affairs through this reflective discussion.

"The SIPISA concept was also introduced and will be implemented by instructors within the Ministry of Social Affairs throughout Indonesia in stages through five training batches," he said.
The first batch will take place on June 25-27 in Jakarta, the second batch and third in Bandung, as well as the fourth and fifth batches in Yogyakarta, with the target participants being national instructors.
The material presented in this training covers various types of disabilities, with the main emphasis on handling disabilities holistically, integratively and inclusive assistance with SIPISA.
In the context of application, this concept has matured and been welcomed by high-ranking officials, which facilitates disability management services and speeds up completion. The initial details of this implementation will also begin with studies at the Prof. Integrated Center. Dr. Soeharso in Surakarta, Central Java.
"Of course, with the study that will be carried out, it is hoped that we can develop applications that are more mature and in line with field needs," he concluded.
Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Development , Cooperation, and Information and Communication Technology, Dr. Martadi, M.Sn. stated that UNESA's main focus is the development of disability management.
"We are very committed to becoming a center of excellence in the field of disability which is not only an academic mission, but also a social responsibility that we carry out to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities in Indonesia (ed)," he said.
Tri Rismaharini, stated that the development of the SIPISA application, the result of collaboration with UNESA, will significantly improve services for people with disabilities.
"Development of this application "is a big step in our efforts to provide better and more inclusive services for people with disabilities and we have been discussing collaboration with UNESA since 2023, because we see the great potential that UNESA has in this field (ed)," said.
The Minister of Social Affairs added that this collaboration is not just a technical improvement, but also reflects the support and expertise of the collaboration between UNESA and the Ministry of Social Affairs to achieve more effective and efficient service targets.
With SIPISA support, it is hoped that there will be synergy better between various parties in dealing with disability issues. The collaboration between UNESA and the Ministry of Social Affairs in this discussion shows the commitment of both institutions in supporting the government's efforts to create an inclusive and friendly society for people with disabilities.[]
