Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA) through the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) visited Formosa Island in collaboration with the College of Science, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), on 17-19 November 2024.
The UNESA delegation that went to Taiwan consisted of the Dean of FMIPA, Wasis; together with Deputy Dean I for Education, Student Affairs and Alumni, Rooselyna Ekawati; and Coordinator of Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program, Raden Sulaiman.
There, FMIPA UNESA discussed cooperation plans in a focus group discussion or FGD with NTNU. "FMIPA was invited by NTNU to discuss what could be collaborated in the future," said the Dean of FMIPA.
There were a number of collaborative programs discussed by FMIPA UNESA and NTNU's College of Science. One of them is cooperation in the academic field such as double degree program, exchange students, summer camp program, as well as joint research and publications.
During the visit, NTNU provides a campus tour program and shows the complete facilities and international students on campus.
The Dean and professor of FMIPA added that this international collaboration is important to open up many opportunities for lecturers and students to be involved in activities or international programs. Moreover, NTNU is one of the best universities in Taiwan with a QS world ranking of 452.
"Expanding cooperation is very important to improve the implementation of the tridharma of higher education at FMIPA, students and lecturers can take part in international programs. For academic work activities "the same as NTNU will start to be implemented in 2025," he said.[*]
