Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The academic community of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) held a meeting at the Auditorium, LP3M, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya, on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. The meeting led by the Chancellor directly discussed various aspects towards the establishment of UNESA as a State University with Legal Entity (PTN BH). ).
Chancellor, Prof. Dr. H. Nurhasan, M.Kes explained that towards the determination of the status, preparation must be thoroughly prepared starting from the university level to the study program (Prodi). In addition, a number of breakthroughs and competitions are also needed.
“Next semester, every study program must have international class. The appropriate lecturer will be selected, and the learning scheme will be in English. If necessary, the number of international study programs is also increased and more and more," said Cak Hasan.

With the change in the governance of the new university, it is hoped that it will be a breath of fresh air for UNESA in increasing innovation, improving the quality of research, publications and contributions to society, nation and state.
“This is not easy and there are many challenges. Because it requires commitment from all levels. Coordination between ranks and divisions as well as study programs must be better and mutually healthy towards achieving institutional achievements. Our work must be more effective, intelligent and sincere for the benefit of the institution and society. Innovation must also increase," he said.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd explained, in the future there will be a number of adjustments. “The quota for new student admissions has also been increased. A maximum of 30% of the entire Mandiri quota. In addition, designing a fast track program for S-1 and S-2 within 5 years. So, students who want to study S-1 and S-2 can directly in one program scheme. This program is certainly different and special learning," he explained.
On that occasion, the Deputy Chancellor for General Affairs and Finance, Suprapto, S.Pd., M.T., said that towards PTN BH, there are three elements that must be matured, namely assets, finance and human resources. “Although UNESA is a PTN BH, UKT remains and will not change.
