Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) won two awards at the same time in the News Jatim Award 2022 on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the Mercure Grand Mirama Hotel Surabaya. The 'One Step Ahead' Campus won 1st place in the Higher Education Public Relations Competition and 3rd place in East Java University Competition Sites.
Beritajatim Award is an award given by Beritajatim.com Office on its 16th anniversary to the best government institutions, universities, and private companies in East Java.
The assessment team or jury consists of experts, namely Usman Kansong, Director General of Information and Public Communication, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. There is Heri Rakhmadi as the Central Public Relations Advisory Board. Also, Suko Widodo, Communication Expert at Airlangga University and Dwi Lokononto, Editor-in-Chief of Beritajatim.com.
On that occasion, in the university PR (Humas) program performance category, UNESA won 1st place, followed by Ubaya in 2nd place and Surabaya State Electronics Polytechnic (Pens) in 3rd place. Then in the Higher Education Website category, UNESA won 3rd place, ITS in 3rd position. 2 and Universitas Brawijaya as the 1st place winner.

Emil Elestianto Dardak, Deputy Governor of East Java who was present at the location said that the role of public relations was very strategic in advancing institutions and as a bridge between institutions and the community. Public relations with the media, he continued, must synergize so that they can be maximized in exploring data and information as well as achievements.
Meanwhile, Dwi Eko Lakononto congratulated and appreciated all government, private, and higher education institutions that had synergized with the media, including Beritajatim. According to him, in journalistic work, public relations has an important role. Therefore, his party gives appreciation and awards to the best public relations in East Java.
"This award is an appreciation as well as to motivate all stakeholders, including government institutions and campuses to navigate the changing times with unlimited creativity and innovation," he said.
UNESA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., appreciated Beritajatim's steps in building synergy with stakeholders in East Java. For him, it is time for all stakeholders to collaborate to build regions and countries that continue to grow and progress.
