Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Arriving in Candipuro District, a refugee camp for the victims of the Mount Semeru Eruption, UNESA SMCC volunteers immediately spread out to each refugee post on Saturday, December 11, 2021. They divided the team into four groups so that the tasks ran optimally and according to plan.
Monitoring UNESA Public Relations at the location, the first team served at the Penanggal Village Hall to help provide residents' consumption. The second team is assigned to the main post in Sumber Wuluh Village, their job is to coordinate with Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) volunteers. The third team served at the Tempeh Village Hall with the task of providing psychoeducation to the victims, including children. Meanwhile, the fourth team focused on providing free health posts.
Logistics assistance, SMCC immediately handed over to the Lumajang Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). “We are grateful for UNESA's assistance for the disaster victims here. Hopefully all this kindness will be rewarded with kindness too," he said.
Meanwhile, Seniman, one of the refugees in Candipuro stated that their current condition has improved quite a bit. Thanks to the assistance of various parties, shelter, clothing and food were fulfilled. "Thank God we feel helped here and comfortable," he said.
Reza Dwi Ramadhan, the chief executive stated that the psychoeducational activity was directed at children. His approach with games is to entertain. That way, they can speed up the trauma recovery process. On the first day of the activity, the children looked happy and content. He hoped that the faces and laughter would continue.
