Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYAa–The Chancellor of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., received the 2022 Education Care Award from the Wardhana Training Center (WdTc) on Monday, January 10, 2022 at WdTC, Kali need, Surabaya.
Director of WdTc, H.M. Reza Pahlevi, SE., revealed that the 2022 Education Care Award is given to figures who have care and contribution in advancing the world of education.
He added that the award was given to the Chancellor of UNESA thanks to his actions during his tenure as Chancellor and his contribution to the world of education. The Chancellor of Unesa, he continued, has an extraordinary commitment to improving the quality of the education sector with innovative breakthrough steps.
“Under his leadership, UNESA has provided many scholarships to underprivileged students, children who excel in religion, sports and the arts. This program can certainly support the improvement of the quality of Indonesian Superior Human Resources,” he said.
Besides being given to Cak Hasan (Prof. Nurhasan's familiar greeting), the award was also given to Prof. Dr. H. Muchlas Samani, M.Pd, Education Observer and UNESA Chancellor for the 2010-2014 period.
Reza Pahlevi said, Prof. Muchlas Samani is a figure who is committed to improving the quality of education, especially in teacher development. While serving as Director of Diktendik Manpower, the UNESA professor was responsible for the birth of Teacher Professional Education (PPG). In addition, he is active as an education practitioner, even being the only elementary school principal with the title of professor.
“He is also active in producing scientific works in the form of books, articles, or in the form of opinions in various newspapers, some of the books he has written include; Concept and Model of Character Education, Initiating Meaningful Education: Integration of Life Skill-KBK-CTL-MBS which can support improving the quality of Superior Human Resources towards a Great Indonesia," he explained.
As for other figures and figures who received the award, namely, the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. (HC) Ir. Tri Rismaharini, MT; Chairperson of the Surabaya City PKK TP, Rini Indriyani; and Director of Radar Surabaya, Lilik Widyantoro.
The awarding was part of the 19th Anniversary series of WdTc. In addition, there was also a webinar which was attended by Dr. Martadi, M.Sn as the Director of the UNESA Vocational Program as a speaker.
Cak Hasan expressed his gratitude for the appreciation given by WdTc. According to him, the award is a motivation for him to continue to do his best in advancing the world of education in East Java and Indonesia in general.
