Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The Student Executive Board of the State University of Surabaya (BEM UNESA) held a National Figure Dialogue on Saturday (11/06/21) by presenting resource persons who were experts in their fields, namely Dr. Bambang Sigit Widodo, M.Pd, Deputy Dean of the Three Faculty of Social Sciences and Law UNESA and Dedi as a figure in the national student movement.
Bambang said that the condition of the covid had been sloping and the condition of several sectors had begun to improve. Compared to before, during the PPKM period, the atmosphere was quite worrying in various sectors. Tourism and the economy had slumped. Like in Legian, Bali and several other places, there are no visitors.
With the various efforts made by the current government, in general it has shown a fairly good trend and is slowly recovering. “The key is in the implementation of health procedures, vaccines and clean and healthy living behavior. If we don't pay attention to that, the pandemic can come back again, but we hope not and hopefully this will be the last one," he said.
Meanwhile, Dedi, as a figure in the national student movement, said that the steps taken by the government were good enough. "This is evidenced by the decline in Covid-19 cases," he said.
The role of youth is very important in fighting the pandemic. Youth have a role in educating the community, as well as strategic roles such as advancing the community's economy through MSMEs that can encourage job opportunities and increase people's income.
"I highlight the economic sector, because this is not only a macro scope but also a micro sector, MSMEs have not recovered significantly, but some areas I see have begun to grow," he said. (UNESA PR)
