Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya – The Covid-19 pandemic, which has been going on since 2020, is predicted to end this year. Unfortunately, this is inversely proportional to the situation in the field that shows the spread of Covid-19 cases that are increasingly widespread. With this condition, the central and local governments also carried out Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) and the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) in Java and Bali from 11-25 January 2021.
The covid-19 pandemic and PPKM add to the long list of economic impacts experienced by the community. Therefore, mutual cooperation and cooperation are the necessary keys today.
Universitas Negeri Surabaya through its Community Service (PKM) program team joined together to take part in easing the economic burden of the community during ppkm. Unesa and the PKM team together distributed food and beverage packages to online motorcycle taxi drivers in Surabaya.
"Hopefully with that help, it can help the community a little and as a form of support so that we all remain optimistic through the pandemic," said Dr. Yonny Herdyanto, M.Kes one of the pkm unesa team members.
He added that the program is based on PNBP Unesa funds allocated specifically to help the community during the pandemic. Besides Dr. Yonny Herdyanto, M.Kes, other members of PKM Unesa are Muchamad Arif Al Ardha, S.Pd., M.Ed, and Awang Firmansyah, S.Or M.Kes. In addition there are Kartika Rinakit Adhe, S.Pd., M.Pd and Wulan Patria Saroinsong, S.Psi M.Pd.
Food and beverage packages in this aid program were deliberately chosen because they were seen as more practical. "If food and drink they can directly eat with the family at home, and certainly do not need to get tired of cooking or draining gas, oil and energy of course," said Muchamad Arif Al Ardha, S.Pd., M.Ed. "Hopefully this pandemic will end soon and our lives can return to normal," he hoped. (Public Relations Unesa)
