Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-UPT Unesa Language Center and IIEF signed a memorandum of cooperation agreement (PKS) in terms of the implementation of the ITP Test of English Proficiency Language (TOEFL). The signing was carried out by the Head of the UPT Language Center, Drs. Suwarno Imam Samsul., M.Pd., and Director of IIEF, Diana Kartika Jahja and witnessed by the Deputy Chancellor for Planning and Cooperation UNESA Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd., on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at UNESA, Lidah Wetan Campus.
TOEFL ITP is an international standardized English language proficiency test that has been used and recognized in various countries and managed by ETS in the United States. Cooperation with IIEF as the holder of the TOEFL ITP license is one of UNESA's commitments in terms of institutional internationalization. This is in line with the university's strategic plan to become a recognized higher education institution in the international region by 2025.
Diana Kartika Jahja stated that everything would lead to internationalization. Especially study programs that have been internationally accredited should use an international certificate as a requirement for graduation. "TOEFL ITP is recognized internationally and will be more useful for students later," he said.
Suwarno Imam Samsul conveyed some concerns for TOEFL ITP test participants from the disability group. Currently, TOEFL ITP has carried out tests for disabled groups. "We will continue to strive to improve the quality and range of services," he said.
Meanwhile, Sujarwanto stated that the implementation of an English test for people with disabilities had been prepared, in fact it had been carried out for some time. Regarding certification, he hopes, international certification for English language skills is not only for students, but also for lecturers and teachers in the teaching profession program. [UNESA PR]
