Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Digital Nation has been buzzing about lately. In fact, the Government is preparing a roadmap for the Indonesia Digital Nation, which aims to realize a world-class and competitive digital quality in Indonesia. Supporting the roadmap, UNESA and PT Indosat Tbk established cooperation and signed the MoU on the 8th Floor of the UNESA Rectorate Building Lidah Wetan on Wednesday (15/09/2021).
UNESA Chancellor Prof. Nurhasan, M.Kes., on that occasion said that the cooperation covers several important aspects. First, to assist in UNESA's efforts to become a Legal Entity Higher Education (PTN-BH). By expanding the network and collaboration on an ongoing basis, various innovations and achievements can be made.
Second, as a commitment between UNESA and Indosat in helping the government create a Digital Nation. According to him, the government through the Ministry of Communication and Informatics is preparing a road map called the Indonesia Digital Nation. "To get there, we need digital infrastructure and high digital understanding and awareness in the community. "That's what we are trying to do in this collaboration," he said.
Third, as an effort to maximize the implementation of Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM) at UNESA. From this collaboration, practitioners from Indosat can share their knowledge and experiences with students in UNESA lecture classes. Then the students can do internships or field work practices at Indosat. "Students in addition to studying in class, also go directly to companies or industries to learn and develop themselves with practitioners in the field," he said.
Chief Business Officer Indosat Tbk, Bayu Hanantasena explained that UNESA has a lot of potential and opportunities to continue to be developed. "We see that Unesa is able to apply science and technology in the form of various innovations, such as the Kece Robot which was launched a few months ago for example," he said.
Interestingly, UNESA not only brings innovation, but can give a touch of humanity in it. In other words, UNESA's innovation is really to make it easier for the community and help the government in handling the Covid-19 pandemic. "For us, this is a contribution-based innovation that can continue to be developed through this collaboration," said Bayu.
Arief Mustaqim Director and chief strategy & innovation officer of Indosat likens the campus to a kitchen that is successful in processing various dishes. However, it has challenges in marketing these dishes. "While we are in the industry as a party in the market that requires new dishes to be marketed," he said. He hopes that the collaboration can complement each other so that innovation products will not only become prototypes in the laboratory, but can also be mass-produced and the community will benefit more massively.
