Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The first batch of the Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK) will be held on May 17, 2022. As one of the venues for the UTBK, there are a number of preparations that have to be finalized by the State University of Surabaya (UNESA). Among them are related to health protocols during the test. This relates to the status of the City of Surabaya which has again implemented PPKM level 2.
In order to ensure that the conditions of the test site are in accordance with the procedures and are safe for both participants and organizers, UNESA coordinates with the Surabaya City Government to conduct a field assessment. This afternoon, Thursday, May 12, 2022, the Surabaya City Government Assessment Team from the Covid-19 Task Force; The Health Office, BPBD and Dispendik conducted an assessment at the UNESA UTBK location.
The UNESA UTBK will be held in three locations; 1) UNESA Lidah Wetan Campus. There, the team accompanied by the UNESA team one by one surveyed the three buildings to be used, namely the Library-Training Center, the Faculty of Education (FIP) and the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS). 2) UNESA Ketintang Campus. There, the team also tested all the test buildings, namely the Faculty of Social and Law (FISH), the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) and the Faculty of Engineering (FT). 3) Partner campus, Unusa Campus B.
The Surabaya City Government Assessment Team Coordinator Liliek Kartikawati, S.E., at the location said that the assessment was carried out to ensure UNESA's UTBK readiness, especially from the health perspective. This is certainly done to anticipate the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and to provide a sense of security and comfort to test participants and organizers. In addition, it is also related to the City of Surabaya which has PPKM level 2 status.
He added that there were three things to consider in the assessment; 1) ventilation of the room, 2) duration of the test, and 3) the seating distance of participants including the flow of participants in and out. "We saw earlier, the room and ventilation are according to standards, yes, there is adequate and healthy air circulation. It is also safe for the duration, because there is a scheme after the participants finish doing the test, they immediately rush to leave the location to avoid the crowd. As for the distance, participants are 1 meter apart from each other," he said at the location.

Head of the UNESA Admissions Unit, Dr. Sukarmin, M.Pd., said that so far UNESA has prepared a place or location for the UTBK by paying attention to the prokes. These include setting the seat for participants to be 1 meter apart, air circulation, and providing a place for washing hands including hand sanitizer at several points.
“Later on, the directions for entry and exit of participants will also be arranged, so there will be no crowds. If there is a note from the team on the results of the assessment, of course we will immediately fix it so that it is in accordance with existing prokes standards and policies. Of course we have to really work things out, because this is related to our common safety, that's our priority (UNESA, ed) and the city government," he said. [UNESA PR]
