Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya – The National Pickleball Championship held at Unesa has ended by producing many future champions. This championship started on Friday (28/5) and closed on Sunday (30/5/2021) at the Unesa Tennis Lab.
The winners in the competition consisted of various categories including for the men's singles the first place was won by Dwi Putu Mahendra from DKI, the second place was occupied by Muhammad Al-Furqon from East Java (East Java) and in third place was Dani Primanta also from East Java and Gesha Otista from West Sumatra.
As for women's singles, Nofulan Adyani from East Java won first place, second place went to Rheina Putri Faylia from DIY and third place went to Shada Achmad, East Java and Wiwin Mutiara from West Java (West Java). For women's doubles, Vena Febriyani and Reina Putri Faylia from Yogyakarta won first place, second place went to Shada Achmad and Nofulan Adyani from East Java, and third place went to Ncie Quraesin Hamid and Wiwin Mutiara from West Java and Faulina Yusuf and Ken Shafa from DKI. .
As for the men's doubles category, the first place went to Handhika Surya and Dwi Mahendra from DKI, the second winner was Muhamad Rayhan and Muhamad Fajar, and the third place went to Cak Susilo and Erwin Setiabudi from DKI, as well as the pair Andi Indrawijaya and Arifin Sappo from East Kalimantan .
In mixed doubles, first place was Muhamad Al-Furqon and Nofuln Adyani from East Java, second place went to Muhamad Fajar and Angela Stefani from DIY, third place went to Dani Primanata and Shada Achmad East Java, Dwi Mahendra and Ken Shafa from DKI. In the Men's Doubles category in the Executive Category, Dr. Baharudin M.pd and Arifin S.Pd, delegates from East Kalimantan, second place went to Afif Rusdiawan M.Kes and Abdul Hafidz, S.Pd., M.Pd from East Java, third place went to Abdul Rahman Syam Tuasikal, M.Pd. and Bibit also from East Java, Mochammad Purnomo, S.Pd M.Kes and Hijrin Fithroni, S.Or. M.Pd from East Java.
In his explanation, Muhammad Kharis Fajar as the chief executive stated that the preparation for the implementation of this championship was less than one month, even the Eid holidays were still cut. But he was grateful that the implementation of the Pickleball championship could run smoothly. He admitted, the most felt obstacle was the unfriendly weather conditions. "We from the committee immediately prepared to make a new indoor field, and we continue to coordinate with existing parties until finally the championship can be continued again," he said.
As is known, the championships held during this pandemic season must of course implement health protocols which are also supervised by the Covid-19 Task Force team, as well as the security forces from the local TNI-Polri units. Of course, this was done considering that this championship was attended by 105 participants from 10 provinces in Indonesia. Athletes from outside Java are directed to stay at the Unesa Hotel, so they can compete fresh and on time.
Muhammad Kharis Fajar himself admitted that the last match was very impressive, where there was an executive match that was participated by the leaders, one of which was Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes. as Chancellor of Unesa and Dr. Agus Hariyanto, M.Kes as the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni. In this match, the Chancellor of Lambung Mangkurat University was also present.
Prof. Nurhasan, M.Kes Unesa Chancellor hopes that the Pickleball championship can create unity and integrity between fellow athletes and referees. Then it can strengthen brotherhood, and avoid disputes and still uphold sportsmanship.
