Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–The Petanque National Championship which has been running since July 15 at UNESA Campus Lidah Wetan, Surabaya ended yesterday, Sunday, July 17, 2022. Aceh athletes managed to become overall champions in the competition involving hundreds of participants from various regions and Malaysia.
Of the six numbers competed, Aceh athletes occupied the throne of champion in three numbers at once. In the single woman number, Novi Lidya won 1st place, double man number, Aliaruansah and Agus won 1st place, then in the women's doubles number, Novi and Nia won 1st place. All from Aceh.
Meanwhile, in the two numbers, namely shooting man and single man, Bagas Syarief Hidayat and Kurniawan Asa Putra from East Java respectively won. The remaining one, shooting woman, won 1st place by Mirda from Cimahi, West Java
The national championship, which was held in the framework of the 58th UNESA Anniversary, carried the theme 'One box of a million winners, one boss of a million achievements'. Participants from the provinces of East Java, West Java, Central Java, West Nusa Tenggara, Jambi, West Kalimantan, Bali, Banten and Aceh were joined.
The chairman of the committee, Abdul Hafidz, S.Pd., M.Pd. advised the athletes participating in the national championship that becoming a champion takes a long and not easy process. A champion is one who manages to get the results of extraordinary training.

"When you get on the podium, you win. But when you get off the podium, you have to go back to training, training and training continuously.
Participants who take part in this championship will be recorded and monitored by FOPI. Talented athletes will be followed up to the next competitions.
Meanwhile, the Daily Chairperson of the Indonesian Petanque Sports Federation (FOPI) East Java, Nur Cholis added, the National Championship in the context of the UNESA Anniversary was quite successful. He hopes that the National Championship will become an annual agenda. "The message from the Chair of the East Java FOPI is that we are trying to make the Petanque National Championship at UNESA an annual agenda towards national and international achievements," he concluded.
