Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The spirit of Kartini must continue to be revived, spread and implemented in everyday life. That is what the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) strives for. They commemorated Kartini Day, 21 April 2022 by holding a discussion at the 9th Floor Auditorium, UNESA LP3 Building, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya on Wednesday, 20 April 2022.
Chairperson of the UNESA DWP, Dra. Endah Purnomowati Nurhasan, M.Pd., said that the commemoration of Kartini Day could not be merely ceremonial. However, it must really be interpreted as a starting point to embody Kartini's fighting spirit in everyday life. This means that women must continue to develop themselves and take an important role in developing the country.
“Women have an important role in Indonesian history. Our task now is how to maintain that spirit and color every task and responsibility both within the family, organization and anywhere else," he said.

"The struggle of Kartini and the great women used to be against the invaders and to take up arms. Now, we are struggling with how to carry out our duties well and contribute to the country and nation. Preparing the nation's next generation is also part of that struggle," he said.
As a presenter, Dr. Umi Dayati, M.Pd., said that women are 'perfect' creations of God with all their natures. Behind the success of a nation and the success of men, there is a great woman behind it. "Even so, don't try to be a perfect woman, but be a happy woman," she added. [UNESA PR]
