Through this activity they highlighted various aspects of design and the latest social issues, including various innovations and solutions to face the swift currents of globalization. They discussed it with practitioners; there is Dr. Dina Dellyana., Apt, MBA., CBAP., CSM., also I Kadek Dwi Noorwatha and Fauzi Prasetya Kamal, S DS, M.A.
On that occasion, Dina Dellyana as an entrepreneur in the creative industry and business incubator discussed the digital agenda and challenges in the creative economy. According to him, design is not just about liking, but how it works. On the other hand, business knowledge is crucial in order to know the future industrial landscape and the road map of a work. “Design is not just a design, it is a smart work innovation. The thing that needs to be looked for in order to survive in the market is to pay attention to human, environment, technology, and business," he said.
Furthermore, I Kadek Dwi Noorwatha as KBK Ruang from Local Culture, FRSD Interior Design Study Program, Indonesian Art Institute Denpasar, discussed the actualization of tantric visual aesthetics in the interior design of spiritual tourism facilities in Bali. He stated that spiritual tourism is tourism seeking a spiritual experience that does not look at religion, while religious tourism is related to religious orders.
He also explained that the culture of the people of the archipelago is related to nature, this which needs to be responded to in the activation of design content that needs to be highlighted. This content can certainly increase the insight of Indonesian culture that carries the philosophy of the natural values of the archipelago into the design. In addition, tantra also has great potential in the development of Indonesian visual culture. Tantra itself is illustrated to have a magical and religious context, where ethics need to be maintained. However, visual formation inspiration needs to be developed.
Asy Ahmad, the moderator of the second session, said that the discussion regarding the activation of Nusantara cultural content is fundamental. Globalization makes the younger generation more aware of the rapid progress of digital content with today's trends. Then forget the basic side of the cultural wealth of the archipelago. This phenomenon is inversely proportional to how western nations focus more on exploring the richness of culture and basic philosophy in the archipelago.
Fauzi Prasetya Kamal, S DS, M.A, who is a Design practitioner and Co Faunder and Director of Kandura Studio, explained that the development of craft products has complex challenges. some of which are changing patterns of production, distribution and public consumption. In addition, there are also challenges for human resources, and challenges for natural resources. "Actualization of potential is not a commodification, but rather education and collaboration as well as sustainable innovation programs," he said. [UNESA PR]
