Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-In order to ensure the quality and fulfillment of the competency standards of the principal, the Institute for Professional Learning Development (LP3) of The State University of Surabaya held a substance selection of prospective principals for 7 days from April 9, 2021 to April 16, 2021.
This activity is in cooperation with LP3 Unesa, Surabaya City Education Office and LPPKSPS (Institute for Development and Empowerment of Principals and School Supervisors). Followed by 125 prospective principals of kindergarten, elementary and junior high school, this activity took place virtually.
Dr. Leni Noviani, S.Pd., M.Si., Chairman of the Assessor Team mentioned, the mechanism of preparing prospective principals there are several stages, ranging from administrative selection organized by the Surabaya Municipality, substance selection, training and then the appointment stage. The selection of this substance aims to assess the ability, strength, ability and leadership power that prospective principals have that allow it to be developed.
"In this selection, the father of the mother is given situational scenarios, case studies and condition scenarios that are raised from real problems in the school. So the father of the mother will only answer according to the case study, no need to add other problems," he said in the opening of bcks selection, Saturday (10/4).
Lecturer of Economic Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret also added, the scenario developed based on the provisions set and serves to assess the quality of leadership potential owned by prospective principals. Assessment is conducted in two stages, namely written selection and interview.
Written selection is done using the instrument of assessment of leadership potential, while the interview is a follow-up to the response of prospective principals during written selection. The hasi assessment of potential is the process of making conclusions and decisions about the tendency of potential leadership conducted based on written selection and interviews. Substance selection assessment criteria consist of 3 categories including; very satisfying, satisfying and unsatisfactory.
At the opening ceremony, also attended by the Head of Teacher and Education Department of Surabaya City Education Office, Mamik Suparmi, M. Pd. and Chairman of LP3 Unesa, Dr. Bachtiar S. Bachri, M. Pd.. Similarly, they expect the principal to be a professional leader in managing the school and always responsive and adaptive to the changes that occur in the present. (meds/zam)
