Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya–The education and training (Diklat) for prospective school principals in Surabaya entered the final stage which was marked by the exhibition "In Service Training 2 (IST-2)" as a closing event at the Student Center, UNESA, on Monday (7/6/2021). The closing of the event was attended by Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., Unesa Chancellor, Dr. Bachtiar S Bachri, M.Pd., as the head of LP3 UNESA, Dr. Karwanto, M.Pd Chairman of the Committee as well as Head of the Center for Education and Training Development, and Tatang Imawan, SE as Head of Assessment and Training.
Karwanto explained that in this event, 26 prospective principals from elementary schools were present. In addition, it involves two training students and one training supervisor from LPPKSPS. He also explained that the prospective school principal participants before reaching this final stage, had gone through several previous stages. "They went through four stages, there were administrative selection, verification and validation with Sim-tendik, selection of substance for prospective principals, and finally the training of prospective principals," he said.
For the education and training stage, prospective principals must go through four more stages, namely OJT 1, IST 1, OJT 2 and IST2. The implementation of OJT 1 and IST 1 itself had previously been carried out at the Ibis Surabaya Hotel. The results of this training will be determined by the Director General of GTK Kemendikbudristek, and the output is in the form of reports from participants and work titles.
In this event, the prospective school principals and teachers also expressed their immense relief after the struggle they had to go through for approximately three months. This became a very moving moment for them, as well as being the pinnacle of their decision before becoming a school principal.
Of course, many messages and impressions are conveyed to increase motivation and encourage them to become professional as well as innovative and creative principals. The Chancellor of Unesa advised the participants to become school principals who are always ready to change, always adapt and upgrade skills and competencies according to the demands of change and times. "This era is very super smart society 4.0, it takes human resources who are able to master information technology to support optimal performance and support optimal productivity in the organization," said the Chancellor of Unesa.
Bachtiar S Bachri also said that participants should not be satisfied with what they have obtained during the training. However, what is obtained at the training center must continue to be honed and developed outside or at the school where you are assigned. From practice and habits and self-development, innovation and creativity come. Meanwhile, Dr. Nunuk Hariyati, M.Pd, one of the teachers in this training, advised that participants can become different principals and be the best in doing their tasks. (Hasna)
