In an effort to raise awareness while realizing humanitarian missions, Unesa through the Crisis Center Mitigation Unit (SMCC) again dispatched volunteers to disaster areas. This time, the departure was aimed at flooded areas in East Java, namely Jombang and Nganjuk. For two days, volunteers consisting of 16 students, 4 escorts from SMCC will conduct a number of activities, ranging from facilitating disaster victims with education and trauma healing and sending various necessary assistance.
"We make sure the health protocol must also be implemented, therefore the volunteers will also be equipped with masks, hand sanitizer and so on, next week, they will also do antigen swabs to ensure their condition is all healthy" said The Head of Crisis Center Mitigation Unit, Diana Rahmasari, S.Psi., M.Si.
Symbolically, this departure was led by Vice Rector of Academic Affairs Unesa, Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd. He also gave a message to all volunteers who departed, "SMCC presents as a manifestation of Unesa's commitment in raising the spirit and meeting the needs of the brothers who are affected by the disaster. Therefore, SMCC is present in handling various humanitarian projects" he said.
Senada, Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Agus Hariyanto, M.Kes., who also gave a speech also gave appreciation for the volunteers who today departed. "You are the selected children of thousands of students who apply, use this as a means of channeling your concern as a student. Hopefully your move inspires other friends to take similar steps" he concluded. (Humas Unesa)
