Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The State University of Surabaya (UNESA) held a virtual third wave of graduation on Sunday (26/09/2021). A total of 1,080 students participated in the graduation procession. The details are from the Faculty of Education (FIP) there are 223 participants, the Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS) 165 participants, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) there are 189 participants.
Then from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH) graduated 97 people, the Faculty of Engineering (FT) graduated 94 people, the Faculty of Sports Science (FIO) there were 7 participants, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) 257 participants and 48 participants from Postgraduate.
UNESA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes said that changes in technology, information and communication gave birth to disruption in all aspects of life. Therefore, graduates must be prepared and good at adapting.
According to him, although the study period on campus has ended, the task of studying and developing oneself is never over. Learning is a lifelong task. One sign of graduates who are ready to adapt is that they are always thirsty to continue learning anywhere and with anyone.
"By continuous learning it not only strengthens existing knowledge, experience and skills, but also increases self-capacity and adds many new experiences," he said. Most importantly, UNESA graduates must be able to collaborate. The more networks, the more opportunities there are, and the more innovations that can be presented.
The Chancellor also advised the graduates that the knowledge and skills possessed can be used to bring benefits and contribute to the surrounding community. "A good person is someone who benefits others," he concluded.
The event continued with the reading of the names of the graduates by Dra. Ec. Ratih Pudjiastuti, M.S. He said that the total number of UNESA graduates this period was 7,030 which was divided into several graduation waves.
The activity was continued with the handover of diplomas by the dean and deputy director of student affairs, then congratulation from the leadership to the graduates. Even though it was done virtually, the graduation procession was solemn and smooth. The graduates were accompanied by their parents and closest relatives with pride and joy.
The names of the best UNESA graduates were read by Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. There are five best graduates of UNESA this wave, namely Anis Setianingsih, S.Pd from S-1 Economics Education Faculty of Economics and Business with a GPA of 3.72.
Next is Millah Khoirul Mu'azah S.Pd from S-1 Science Education FMIPA with a GPA of 3.92. Then there is Zakiyyah Ul-Haqq also from the Faculty of Economics and Business with a GPA of 3.76. Then followed by Najmy Haqq Salim M.M from Postgraduate with a GPA of 3.89. Finally, from the Bachelor of Arts in Sendratasik Education, Faculty of Language and Arts, on behalf of Krismonlia Mar'is Rahayu with a GPA of 3.85.
For their achievements, the students received an appreciation in the form of savings worth Rp. 5 million. One of the best graduates, Millah Khoirul Mu'azah, expressed his deepest gratitude to all UNESA staff for educating and guiding him to the end. This achievement and success is due to the help and support of all parties.
What's the secret to becoming the best graduate? He said that was achieved through commitment and good time management. According to him, the organization is important for self-development. However, academics should be prioritized in order to earn or maintain grades. He hopes that this achievement can motivate him even more in the future and can be a motivation for others as well.
"My learning task has not been completed, I must fulfill my responsibility as a scholar to continue to be the best in advancing education and improving the quality of human resources in the community," he said enthusiastically. [Nabila/Zam]
