Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-As part of the implementation of the 'Independence of Learning and Independent Campus', the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) held a student release event for the 2021 school field introduction (PLP) on Monday (09/08/2021). The event with the theme “Becoming an Intelligent Person with Character” was held online. Participants in the activity wore UNESA alma mater dress code.
This year's PLP UNESA covers the areas of Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Gresik, Lamongan, Jombang, Kediri and Mojokerto. The event was opened by singing the songs Indonesia Raya and Mars Unesa, as well as showing a video from the Unesa Crisis Center Mitigation Unit (SMCC). The event continued with a prayer led by Ahmad Bashri, SPd., M.Sc., and remarks from the Chief Executive, Dr. Muhammad Sholeh, S.Pd., M.Pd.
In his speech, Muhamad Sholeh said that the implementation of the PLP release was attended by 2,983 students. The implementation of independent learning in the first year was full of challenges and obstacles, including the pandemic. Therefore, he conveyed to the heads of departments and faculties to be more patient in coordinating and dealing with students.
The student response to the new program, he continued, was very good and was greeted with joy. "Hopefully we will continue to oversee MBKM until the goal of independent learning at Unesa is created," he hoped.
The event was continued with remarks from representatives of the PLP region by the Head of the Gresik Regency Education and Culture Office, Dr. Hariyanto, M.Pd. In his speech, Hariyanto thanked him for being one of the areas for student PLP. "Hopefully, the presence of the younger students at this Gresik Regency institution can provide the best contribution and innovation for the advancement of education in Gresik," he hoped.
Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes as the Chancellor of Unesa gave a speech as well as opening and releasing PLP students in 2021 saying that the program can encourage student productivity and creativity and improve the quality of partner schools and institutions. “This is amazing, we can be productive. If we adapt, we will win, especially in the 4.0 era, which is required to adapt to plus conditions during the Covid-19 pandemic," he said.
In carrying out the PLP, the Chancellor advised the participants to obey the prokes and maintain immunity and faith. "I wish you good luck with the PLP. I hope students can give special roles to students and schools," said Nurhasan. (Madina/zam)
