Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-In order to maximize the implementation of the Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM) program, the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Borneo Tarakan (UBT), North Kalimantan.
The MoU was signed directly by the Chancellor of UNESA, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes and UBT Chancellor Prof. Dr. Adri Patton, M.Si in the Eighth Floor Meeting Room, Rectorate Building, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya, Tuesday, March 22, 2022. The event was attended by the rectorate leadership, Head of LP3M UNESA, Dr. Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri, M.Pd, and the Head of the MBKM Unit Dr. Muhammad Sholeh, M.Pd.
Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes explained that UNESA continues to maximize and improve the quality of MBKM implementation, one of the efforts being made is to expand the network of cooperation with domestic and foreign institutions or partners.
"The more partners, the more collaboration space, can work on internships, research and others in realizing innovation in various fields. Innovation and collaboration cannot be separated," he explained.
The man who is usually called Cak Hasan continued, currently UNESA is in the process of preparing to go to PTN-BH which demands adjustments and increases in the level of institutional governance.
"That's why we are trying to make UNESA truly worthy in all aspects. Our excellence, one of which is sports, is facilitated, and sport science continues to be developed to international standards, until the Minister of Youth and Sports is appointed as the center for athlete development. under the direct coordination of the Minister of Youth and Sports," he said.
He hopes that the collaboration between UNESA and UBT can be a collaboration space in giving birth to many innovations, especially in the implementation of MBKM. "We go together and move forward together to improve the quality of the implementation of the tridharma of higher education both at UNESA and at UBT," he hoped.
Prof. Dr. Adri Patton, M.Si. The Chancellor of the University of Borneo Tarakan expressed his appreciation to UNESA. "This is an honor for us so that we can learn a lot and together advance the institution," he said.
He said that his party had a desire to bridge the community of Malinau Village to get the same opportunity to receive education. The village is considered to lack access to good education. "This is what we are trying to overcome. From what has been discussed together earlier, we have a view of attitudes and strategies that can be carried out in the future for the people of Malinau Village," he added.
In the future, one of the implementations of this collaboration is that UNESA sends lecturers in the field of sports at UBT. The event was coupled with a discussion about the MBKM curriculum. Head of LP3M UNESA, Dr. Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri, M.Pd said, MBKM activities can be carried out with all stakeholders with full courage to change the mindset. "MBKM activities are social construction-oriented which are carried out to meet the needs of both students and lecturers and even the community," said the UNESA Curriculum Expert.
Meanwhile, Dr. Muhammad Sholeh, M.Pd explained that the interest and enthusiasm of students to take part in MBKM was quite high with all fields involved. Therefore, they are required to participate in the program. "What is clear is that it is the right of students to be able to further explore their abilities in the realm and we will continue to maximize them," he explained. (UNESA PR)
