Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya – State University of Surabaya (Unesa) held Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) University-level students, Saturday (10/4). The implementation of MTQ organized by the Student Activity Unit (UKM) MTQ Unesa is intended to find superior seeds that will be included in the National Student MTQ event.
Head of PIC MTQ Mahasiswa Unesa, Dr. H. Moch. Khoirul Anwar, S.Ag., MEI said this activity is a sustainable MTQ that starts from the faculty level, then continues to the university level. So that it can attract students who will be included at the national level.
"Participants who won the champion will represent Unesa at the national level. We hope to capture the seeds of al-Qur'an fighters that we will build and send to the national level," said Khoirul who also serves as Vice Dean of Student Affairs and Alumni of the Faculty of Economics.
In his speech, Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni of Unesa, Dr. Agus Hariyanto, M.Kes explained, the champions will be given intensive and structured coaching by involving experts in their fields.
"The hope is not only sent at the national student MTQ event held by the National Achievement Center, but also various independent MTQ competitions held by government agencies and private agencies," agus said.
Before opening the activity, Agus also told the participants to preach and ground the Qur'an in daily life. In addition, in order to always improve the quality of reading the Qur'an for students, carry out duties and responsibilities as a Muslim against the Qur'an, as a self-realization to believe in us Allah SWT
"By introducing and maintaining the honor of the Qur'an, living, practicing and preaching its content, bringing people closer to the Qur'an more in the time of a very global adult life and the many influences of radicalism," explained Agus.
Carrying the theme 'Realizing Students Of Unesa Spirited Qir'ani, Smart and Berakhlakul Karimah in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic' this MTQ implementation was held online through the Zoom application and offline in the Auditorium on the 11th floor of the Rectorate Building unesa Lidah Wetan Campus. About 210 participants both teams and individuals will demonstrate their skills in this MTQ event which is divided into 14 categories. (Suryo)
