Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA) in collaboration with Springer Nature held an Authorship Workshop: How to Get Published in the Computer Room, 4th floor, Library Building, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, on Monday, 14 October 2024.
The workshop, which was attended by lecturers and students from UNESA, was attended by Mabel Tang, Director, Key Account, Customer Engagement, APAC and Sururin Maudhunah, Products Trainer for IGrup Asia Pacific.
Springer Nature was founded in 2015 after the merger of Macmillan Science and Education and Springer Science + Business Media. With major shareholders; Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, BC Partners.
Springer Nature operates in four main divisions, namely Research, Education, Health and Professional, and is operated globally through its registered head office in Berlin, Germany.
Mabel Tang explained the 7 segments in the session. He introduced the background of Springer Nature which acts as an institution that works closely with the global academic community to verify, publish and share trustworthy research through various established and innovative digital channels.
These insights support the development of new fields of knowledge, to maintain scientific progress. Mabel Tang shares her in-depth knowledge of the world of academic publishing.
He explained the important role of this institution in facilitating the dissemination of high-quality research. Springer Nature works closely with the global academic community to verify, publish and disseminate the latest findings through a variety of innovative digital channels.
Mabel Tang provided participants with practical guidance on the scientific publication process, from planning research until the final stage of publication. Important aspects that need to be considered are good structure in a scientific work, as well as effective strategies to increase the chances of an article being accepted in a reputable journal.
Apart from that, it also introduces various services and tools provided by Springer Nature to support researchers , such as manuscript submission platforms, reference management systems, and scientific article databases.
The second resource person, Sururin Madhunah, gave a direct demonstration on how to optimally utilize the Springer Nature platform.
It is hoped that this activity can be a trigger for lecturers and teaching staff to increase their research productivity and expand the reach of scientific work publications at the international level. "In this way, Indonesia's contribution to the development of science can be even more significant," he said.[]
