Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) is currently opening registration for prospective rector candidates for the period 2022-2026, from March 28 to April 14, 2022. This opportunity is open to the best academics from UNESA as well as from other state universities.
For those who are interested and meet the requirements, they can go directly to the committee secretary's room on the 9th floor of the Rectorate Building, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya. Registration service is open every working day.
Of course, being the chancellor is an honor as well as a big responsibility that must be carried out during the term of office. There are several requirements that must be met by prospective UNESA rector candidates, including:
- Civil Servants (PNS) who have experience in positions as lecturers with the lowest academic level being lector.
- Believe and fear God Almighty
- Maximum age of 60 years at the end of the term of office of the current Chancellor.
- Have the lowest managerial experience as head of department or head of institution (or other equivalent designation) for a minimum of two years at a PTN. Or, at least as an echelon 2a official in the central and regional government agencies.
- Willing to be nominated as Chancellor
- Physically and mentally healthy
- Free of narcotics, precursors, and other addictive substances
- Each element of the lowest employee performance appraisal has a good value in the last two years.
- Not currently undergoing study assignments or study permits for more than six months leaving the tridharma of higher education.
- Not currently serving a moderate or severe disciplinary punishment
- Never been sentenced to prison based on a court decision that has permanent legal force
- Minimum doctoral education (S-3)
- Never commit plagiarism as regulated in the provisions of laws and regulations
- Have submitted the State Official Wealth Report (LHKPN) to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), or the State Civil Apparatus Wealth Report (LHKASN) KemenPANRB

There are several important dates that must be considered in the selection of UNESA rector candidates for the 2022-2026 period, namely;
- Announcement of the selection of the UNESA Chancellor will be made on 23 March – 4 April 2022
- Registration for UNESA rector candidates starts on March 28 – April 14, 2022
- Verification of administrative files for UNESA rector candidates from 20 March to 21 April 2022.
- The determination of the rector candidates and the announcement of the rector candidates on April 22, 2022.
- Socialization of UNESA rector candidates on April 25 – May 17, 2022.
- Submission of the vision, mission and program for the rector candidates as well as the screening of the rector candidates on 18 May 2022.
As for the election, appointment and inauguration of the rector will be carried out after the adjustment of the schedule of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
