Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-In commemoration of the 58th Anniversary of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA), the Labschool of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) held a seminar with the theme "Unesa Labschool Welcomes Independent Learning" on a hybrid basis on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Auditorium of the LPPP Building, Lidah Wetan, Surabaya . The activity was attended by all school leaders, teaching staff, and education staff.
Dr. Suhartono, M.Pd., as the Head of Doctoral Program for Indonesian Language and Literature Education became the speaker that afternoon. He conveyed his ideas about the attitude of an educator in responding to learning that has been 'liberated' through various recent policies.
According to him, the freedom of learning is a stage for students to show their best expression. Therefore, educators must have sufficient provisions to escort students and students in finding their best expression. “Schools can implement a learning system independently. However, it remains in a positive context," Suhartono said.
After being re-examined, he continued, independent learning is not learning that completely frees students to carry out learning activities as they please. However, it is still under the supervision of teachers with the aim of creating superior human resources, especially in the fields of literacy and numeracy.
"In this era of rampant digitalization, it is hoped that students will not let their guard down. This is homework for the UNESA Labschool in the future to guide students in realizing an international standard school," he explained.
Towards a global standard Labschool, of course there are several things that must be considered, including the quality of learning and learning, innovation and the quality of educators. This digital era demands a massive transformation, including in the learning and learning system. Teachers are required to upgrade their abilities on a regular basis. They are not only required to have competence; pedagogic, personality, professional and social. However, it must also be creative, adaptive and innovative. [Unesa Public Relations]
