Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—Through the UNESA Entrepreneurship Bootcamp program (BONEK), State University Surabaya (UNESA) presented two speakers from the entrepreneurial circle in 'Entrepreneur Brainstorming' at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Psychology, 7th Floor, Campus II Lidah Wetan, on Thursday, 3 October 2024.
Activities which are part of the UNESA BONEK Pre-Immersion series This theme carries the theme "New Business Model and Entrepreneur Character Building." The two speakers present were Cakra Negara, a culinary and tourism entrepreneur, and Hendy Setiono, CEO of Baba Rafi.
In the first session, Hendy Setiono shared experiences regarding the business he was involved in, starting from the beginning of building a business on a large scale. small and has around 1,300 branches in Indonesia and 68 outlets in various countries, including Malaysia, India, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, China, Singapore, the Netherlands, Brunei Darussalam and Bangladesh.
Hendy Setiono's struggle to build the business is an inspiration, especially how a business that started from a simple small cart can develop into a successful international brand.

The key to the business lies in several strategies. Starting from analyzing market opportunities, determining target markets, determining product positions, unique selling points or looking for the uniqueness of the products created and finally collaboration to encourage business development faster.
"There is no business that is immediately successful, "With perseverance, innovation and a strong vision, it proves that dedication and hard work, big dreams can come true," he explained.
Meanwhile, Cakra Negara explained the importance of being an entrepreneur. For him, someone who owns a business will be free to manage his time and working hours, can work anywhere, is not bound by superiors' rules, and has unlimited income and can open up job vacancies for the community.
He explained that successful entrepreneurs usually a good learner, learns from mistakes and has extensive networking. Vice versa, failed entrepreneurs are those who only learn but don't take action, who fall and don't want to get back up.

“Expand relations and friendship by joining positive, productive and contributive communities or organizations to find solutions, insights and partners for developing our business," he said.
This event was opened by the Head of PMMA (Student Exchange and Academic Mobility) Sub-Directorate, M Jacky. He stated that the UNESA BONEK program is not just a conversion of 20 credits, but is a golden opportunity for students to build a strong entrepreneurial foundation.
“Through this event, we will not only produce a haphazard business plan, but a correct one. -really able to create a viable and sustainable business, even bringing success in the future," he said.
The event, which was attended by participants from BONEK UNESA and other campuses, was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the company partners present , as a form of strategic collaboration in the field of entrepreneurship.
In addition, in the final session students created and presented the results of their discussions regarding the business model canvas designed with their team, to train them to build a good and structured business.[]
