Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–The State University of Surabaya in collaboration with Disway held the DISWAY PANDESA EQUESTRIAN COMPETITION 2021. The equestrian competition was held in two days, namely on 27-28 November 2021. Around 100 participants from East Java and Central Java were involved in a horse riding skill competition.
This competition was held in the Pandesa field of the State University of Surabaya, attended by several important guests which was divided into two sessions. On the first day, 27 November 2021 attended by sponsors and UNESA officials. Then on the second day, November 28, 2021 was attended by several VIP guests, including the Chancellor of UNESA, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan., M.Kes; Minister of BUMN 2015 as well as the establishment of Disway, Prof. Dr. (H.C) Dahlan Iskan; former Kemenpora official, Deddy Kusdinar, as well as all sponsors and sponsoring colleagues.
The Vice Chancellor for General Affairs and Finance, Suprapto, S.Pd., M.T., stated that the competition was very important to hold the spirit of champions in the nation's children. He hopes this event can continue to be held in the future. "Hopefully an event like this will go national, we are ready to facilitate it," he said.
According to him, this activity is a forum for coaching athletes. "Hopefully this event will run smoothly and be successful, it can be the pride of East Java and of course Indonesia," he hoped.
The match started with the Simple Drassage class on the first day and was followed by the show jumping category on the second day. Bibit Sucipto, Director of Pandesa Riding School, explained that in the drassage or riding class, participants were asked questions and answered with horse movements. In the field there are letters that contain meaning. Participants will be asked questions with certain movements and will point to certain letters.
Starting today, continued Bibi, there will be three equestrian events in Indonesia at once. In Jakarta, Banten, and in Surabaya. This match invites the best judges of level two dragsage. In addition, what is more special is the time keeper who is currently present. They are international time keepers who have handled the Olympics level in Tokyo,” he explained.
This match was closed by Dahlan Iskan. The biggest hope from this activity is that UNESA can oversee the development of athletes in the process. This will be a positive image for UNESA that has led the nation's youth towards glorious achievements in the present and in the future.
