Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The month of Ramadan is a momentum to strengthen friendship and brotherhood. That is what is being sought behind the implementation of sports and breaking the fast with the leaders, education staff and athletes of the Faculty of Sports Science (FIO) of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA). The agenda is routinely held every Tuesday and Thursday during the month of Ramadan at the UNESA Tennis Court, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya.
FIO Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Drs. Arif Bulqini, M. Kes., said that the event was a routine event for faculty leaders, department heads, education staff and involved athletes.
"We have a joint tennis schedule every Tuesday and Thursday, it's routine and sometimes UNESA leaders participate. This agenda is still running despite the fasting month. We even added a schedule for breaking the fast together after sports," he explained at the iftar location on Thursday, April 21, 2022.
Behind the routine, the goal is to spread the spirit of sports to colleagues. Exercise must continue to be done, both outside the fasting month and during fasting. The reason, healthy body and soul and increase productivity. In addition, the joint sport is also to improve the ability of UNESA and FIO leadership in playing tennis. It was part of the preparation for the tennis competition between universities and LPTKs.
"The habit of breaking the fast is motivated by the existence of Dogenpres (professional lecturers) who was born in 1992. At that time, Cak Hasan, demanded lecturers to be crazy about achievement," he explained. This is what makes the lecturers enthusiastic about practicing, even during the fasting month.
Yusuf Wibisono from Pandesa was very enthusiastic about participating in the activity. According to him, it can strengthen family ties and expand relationships. “The atmosphere is great. Usually bukber is held in an elite place, but this is simple. However, we feel a different atmosphere and feel meaningful," he said. (UNESA PR)
