Unesa. ac.id., BALIKPAPAN—The 'Home of Champions' Campus continues to expand its role and contribution to the region, community and country. This time, Surabaya State University (UNESA) was trusted by the government to be involved in preparing the educational road map for the capital of the archipelago.
The commitment to cooperation was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Drs. H. Alimuddin., M.Si, Deputy for Social, Cultural and Community Empowerment, Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN), with UNESA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., in Balikpapan, Monday (3/6/2024),
Alumuddin said that to prepare the IKN education road map, the government is collaborating with nine state and private higher education institutions that have excellence and expertise -experts in the field of education, one of whom is UNESA.
"Thank you to the Chancellor of UNESA and his staff for the good cooperation so far. Previously, the UNESA expert team was involved in preparing the education road map, and with this MoU "The steps for cooperation and collaboration can be more concrete," he said.
He added that the education road map will become a reference in planning, designing and implementing education at IKN to form and prepare the Golden Indonesian generation 2045.

UNESA Chancellor who is familiarly called Cak Hasan, said he was ready to develop education at IKN, as well as increase human resources at IKN.
“We have prepared several programs to support the government, including at IKN. This step must be done together. "Therefore, this MoU is important to carry out," he said.
Added by Cak Hasan, this future cooperation is also related to providing access to higher education in IKN. "In this cooperation discussion, we discussed how higher education countries including UNESA can be present at IKN and we are preparing that," concluded Cak Hasan.
Apart from the MoU with the OIKN Agency, UNESA also signed an MoU with the Paser Regency Government, East Kalimantan. Assistant for Government and Social Welfare, Paser Regency Secretariat Ir. H. Romif Erwinadi., M.Si, said that this collaboration with UNESA covers the fields of education and institutional governance.
"With this collaboration, it is hoped that UNESA can jointly improve good governance "effective and efficient through professional, participatory and transparent government and improving the quality of Paser Emas's human resources," said Romif.
UNESA's MoU with the OIKN Agency and the Paser Regency Government was carried out on the sidelines of the University's 2025 Planning and Development Conference Surabaya State (UNESA) which was attended by all levels of university leadership, faculties, directors and heads of UNESA environmental institutions.[]
