Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–The government continues to strive to advance the education system in Indonesia. New policies have sprung up, one of which is Merdeka Learning, the Independent Campus ‘made’ by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. In implementing the policy, the government disburses a budget, which includes incentive funds for universities.
Universities that receive the budget must meet the requirements and achieve key performance indicators (KPI). In a national webinar initiated by SEWIMA, some time ago, the Secretary of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Ir. Paristiyanti Nurwardani, M.P., said that the size of a developed campus has eight main performance indicators.
The indicators in question, 1) Graduates have obtained decent jobs. 2) Students get off-campus experience. 3) Lecturers have activities outside the campus. 4) Practitioners teach on campus. 5) The work of lecturers is used by the community. 6) Study program in collaboration with world-class partners. 7) Collaborative and participatory class. 8) International standard study program.
In line with that, UNESA is intensively collaborating with various companies and industries as well as government agencies. On the other hand, UNESA also continues to move in sending lecturers and students to gain experience outside the campus and industry both at home and abroad.
In the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 135/E/KPT/2021 regarding the Award for Achievement of Main Performance Indicators of State Universities in the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology in 2020 /2021, it was explained that there are several categories of KPIs, namely, BH PTN League KPI, BLU PTN League KPI, Satker PTN IKU League, Satker PTN Art Group IKU League, PTN BH IKU Excellence Award, BLU PTN Excellence IKU Award and IKU Excellence Award PTN Satker.
UNESA itself managed to rank 6th out of 33 PTNs in the BLU PTN League category with 681 growth points and 60 achievement points with a moderate position of 70 percent. In addition, UNESA also managed to get second place in the PTN BH IKU Excellence award with an achievement of 60 percent.
