Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kominfo RI) in collaboration with the National Digital Literacy Movement (GNLD) Siberkreasi and Katadata held a Katadata Literacy Digital Talk's webinar with the theme "Becoming Content Creators for Beginners" on Saturday (09/10/2021).
Present as resource persons were Puspita Sari Sukardani, S.T., M.Med.Kom, a lecturer in the UNESA Communication Studies Study Program, Berdit Zanzabela as Passionpreneur and Content Creator, and Basuki Setia Nugroho as a Youtuber. They were accompanied by Pinky Darya as the moderator of the event.
On that occasion, Puspita said that there are many things that can motivate someone to become a content creator. Some want to share their experiences with others, some want to be known by many people, and many also want to join in. It makes the world of content creators interesting and colorful.
Interestingly, he continued, many young people today are interested in becoming content creators. "If we look and ask, it is rare that they want to become civil servants or BUMN employees," he said. He revealed, there are many factors why the younger generation prefers to be content creators.
First, the younger generation can find their passion when they become content creators, for example those who like to travel can become travel bloggers or travel vloggers, then those who like make-up can become beauty vloggers, and so on.
When creating the content, they are also indirectly finding their passion. It can be a fun activity for the younger generation. "Combining hobbies and passions into the world of content creators is important and becomes a success strategy for young people today," he said.
Second, young people can share knowledge and experiences and build networking. By sharing with others, building networks, collaborating, it will make them more connected to many people and can also bring positive influence for themselves as well as for the progress and development of the world of content creators.
Third, because the income factor is quite tempting. Being a content creator tends to be independent, not tied to working hours. So you can freely create your own creativity. "The biggest motivation for today's young generation is that if the viewers are increasing, the income will also be increasing," he said. (Aida/zam).
