In the presence of PG-PAUD student participants class 2023-2024, and the recognition class of past learning or RPL unesa , Salma Aulia Khosibah emphasized that environmental factors were the main foundation of the development of children's language.
The environment provides a variety of stimulus and interactions that are important for learning language. The more children are accustomed to hearing rich and diverse languages, both from parents, family, peers, the faster and the good development of the language.
"They will hear various kinds of vocabulary, sentence structure, and even ways of communicating from the surrounding environment. Therefore there is a term, the family environment is the first language dictionary for children," he said.
For this reason, both parents and teachers must understand the needs of children's development in language aspects, and design the environment that encourages the development of the language.
He also explained the learning strategy of language that was fun and meaningful, as well as the challenges that are often faced by early childhood, such as delays in speech ( speech delay ) and learning delays ( slow learner ).
According to him, learning must be flexible and adaptive because each child has its own uniqueness. Interactive learning, where children are actively involved in the learning process, are very influential on their language and communication skills. In this case, teachers and parents act as facilitators, not just appraisers.
To overcome learning barriers, educators need to create a supporting learning environment, utilize interactive educational technology, and provide contextual examples.
The use of relevant mother tongue can also help children more easily understand the material. In addition, it is important to provide space for children to learn through exploration and discovery of themselves.
Coordinator of the PG-PAUD S-1 Study Program, Kartika Rinakit Adhe, in his remarks said that this activity was intended to equip students with an understanding of children's development from language aspects.
"This activity is to add insight, especially RPL participants who come from Madiun. This guest lecture is also a forum to improve skills in understanding aspects of language development for early childhood," he said. [*]
