Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya - Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa) and the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT) of the Republic of Indonesia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Education, Research, and Community Service in Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Taufik Madjid, Secretary General of the Ministry of Rural Affairs pdtt ri as the first party and Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd, Vice Rector for Planning and Cooperation Unesa as the second party in the Office of the Ministry of Finance pdtt, Jakarta on Tuesday (02/09/2021).
The purpose of the MoU is as a guideline for both parties in conducting cooperation in the field of education and training in order to improve and develop human resources, the field of formulation of concepts and policy models, the field of development of technological innovation facilities, and the field of control of policy performance facilities and development programs and community empowerment.
In addition, cooperation in the field of accessibility development, capacity building for academic community and stakeholders working for development and empowerment, and other fields agreed as long as it does not conflict with the provisions applicable in each party.
The purpose of the cooperation is to increase the synergy of governments and universities in developing knowledge, insights, and skills as well as community empowerment programs in villages, rural areas, disadvantaged areas, and transmigration areas. Then increase the contribution of universities both in terms of knowledge, insight, and skills as well as community empowerment programs in villages, rural areas, disadvantaged areas, and transmigration areas.
In addition, it is also to realize education towards the independence and welfare of communities in villages, rural areas, disadvantaged areas, and transmigration areas, and to support the acceleration of development and empowerment of villages, disadvantaged areas, and transmigration areas.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Rural Affairs PDTT, Taufik Madjid said that the direction and target of sustainable village development requires collaboration and multisector synergisticity, including with universities, one of which is Unesa. Therefore, cooperation with universities is carried out with the aim of improving human resources, welfare and competitiveness of villages and regions in Indonesia. (Zam / Public Relations Unesa)
