Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya–The State University of Surabaya (UNESA) received a visit from the Education and Culture Office of the Province of East Kalimantan (Kaltim) on the 8th Floor of the Unesa Rectorate Building on Wednesday (02/6/2021). The visit was in the context of discussion of cooperation between the two parties in the future.
On that occasion, Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd as Deputy Chancellor of Unesa for Planning and Cooperation. Also present were the dean of the Faculty of Sports Science, the dean of the Faculty of Languages and Arts, the dean of the Faculty of Education, the Deputy Academic Director of Vocational Education, and the Unesa Admissions Unit Team. From the East Kalimantan Education and Culture Office, Anwar Sanusi, S.Pd, M.Pd as the head of the department and his staff attended directly.
Sujarwanto said that Unesa welcomed the cooperation. Even this year, he continued, Unesa provided a scholarship quota for prospective students from East Kalimantan. "So, we will provide five prospective students from East Kalimantan with scholarships, in the form of UKT-free, SPI-free for 4 years," he said. "Prospective students, apart from getting scholarships, are also free to choose majors at Unesa according to the needs of human resources in East Kalimantan," he continued.
He added that the scholarship is a form of trust and cooperation between Unesa and the East Kalimantan Provincial Government. On that occasion, the East Kalimantan Education Office shared about human resources in East Kalimantan and the handling of disability there. They hope that the cooperation of the two parties can also spread to the development of the quality of educators for disabilities.
"We cooperate with Unesa because there is a plan to improve the quality of special schools (SLB) in around 10 districts, we pay attention to the teachers, we improve the quality and quality," said Anwar Sanusi firmly. "Hopefully the cooperation can run smoothly, and of course the hope is that it can have an impact on increasing human resources and providing education so that it can encourage change and the people of East Kalimantan can be more advanced," he hoped.
The Vice Chancellor for Planning and Cooperation, representing the Unesa Chancellor, fully supports the plan of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government. He thanked him for the trust and cooperation. (Hasna/zam)
