Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-In order to encourage the development of disability-friendly areas, the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) is collaborating with the Provincial Government of East Kalimantan (Pemprov Kaltim) to prepare extraordinary teachers in the area that is predicted to be the location of Indonesia's new capital city.
One form of realization of this collaboration is the provision of special scholarships for the S-1 Special Education (PLB) study program at UNESA for sons and daughters of East Kalimantan who have not yet studied and have an interest in educating children with special needs.
Head of the UNESA Admissions Unit, Dr. Sukarmin, M.Pd., explained that the PLB S-1 scholarship was in the form of exemption from single tuition fees (UKT) for eight semesters and free institutional development contributions (SPI) or building fees. In addition, scholarship recipients also receive monthly living expenses assistance of IDR 1,500,000 for eight semesters.
Sukarmin added that the registration period for the scholarship program has been opened on August 3-12, 2021. The registration requirements are, (1) East Kalimantan residents as evidenced by a family card, (2) graduating from high school/equivalent, (3) filling out the registration form and completing and upload documents on the page http://pmb.unesa.ac.id. The selection stage will be held on August 14, 2021 and the results will be announced on August 16, 2021. "For more information, please visit the page above or Unesa's official social media," he said.
For information only, the collaboration between UNESA and the East Kalimantan Provincial Government covers several fields and for PLB teachers it has entered its second year starting from the beginning of the signing of the MoU. One of the goals of this collaboration is to improve quality, accessibility, and quality educational services towards an advanced and superior East Kalimantan. "Hopefully this collaboration can be our joint effort to improve the quality of education, human resources and encourage regional development in East Kalimantan," said the Unesa Chancellor some time ago.
