Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Planning and Cooperation UNESA held an International Webinar with the theme "Cooperation in Higher Education and DUDI (Business and Industrial World) to Support the Implementation of Independent Learning" on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. This webinar presented two speakers, namely Heka Hertanto, Chairperson General Artha Graha Peduli and Chia Halim, Representatives of Norman Disney & Young Australia.
As stated by Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd., Deputy Chancellor for Planning and Cooperation in his speech that this activity aims to support the implementation of the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program, especially in increasing the potential of human resources as well as building cooperation in various fields.
"Along with UNESA's commitment and efforts to continue to build a better Indonesia. I hope this webinar will be an inspiration and spur participants to continue to develop in developing Indonesia," he said.
Heka Hertanto as the first resource person, conveyed about the Artha Graha Peduli Foundation which is a non-profit organization founded by Artha Graha Network to support social awareness activities, humanitarian actions (including education and health), community empowerment, environmental conservation and legal services for the underprivileged.
In his presentation of the material, he said there are five things that must be prepared before entering the world of work, namely, mentally, knowing yourself, honing skills, controlling emotions, and being a good listener. According to him, all of this is packaged in a strategy called personal branding. Personal branding is an effort to promote oneself and a career through an image that is built for the general public.
"One must have strong principles, adhere to the prevailing values, always be consistent, be able to set priorities, focus on strengths and continue to develop networks on professional social media, such as LinkedIn," he said.
Meanwhile, Chia Halim who currently serves as Project Engineer at Norman Disney & Young (NDY), an Australian development consulting company, said that currently NDY is opening an internship program for students who have expertise in related fields, including building engineering, engineering civil, and electrical engineering.
