Dwi Larso, Ph.D., Director of LPDP Scholarships, said that this year, the LPDP has increased its endowment fund, which is the fund managed for the sustainability of the scholarship. The amount of this endowment is 119 trillion which is set aside from the APBN to participate in developing as LPDP's commitment to provide educational scholarships to Indonesian students to continue their studies.
“LPDP in the affirmation scholarship is also continuously pursuing its performance so that it will continue to be better by making students in remote areas given reflection on requirements without a TOEFL test. That way, there is evidence that we are working continuously to improve services and want to serve all the nation's children wherever they are, not even in remote areas," he said.
Furthermore, Oxford University LPDP Awardee, Mukhlish Jamal Musa Holle, Ph.D (Cand) opened his presentation with a key question, why further study? This question must be answered for those who want to do further studies. This is an important part of the study plan so that it can be right on target and as expected in the future.
“Do we want to continue studying because of a better career, better salary, more impact, for social status, or just to follow trends and delay adulthood. This is important, because there is a career in which S-1 is actually enough. That's why it needs to be carefully planned," he said.
Regarding when further studies are carried out, there are several alternatives that he proposes, they can be directly after S-1, can seek work experience first and then continue, and can also take a gap year to prepare. Then, the LPDP must also be considered, whether the LPDP score is in line with personal values and in accordance with the plan after graduation.
“In applying for the LPDP scholarship, there are several things that must be considered and even answered, such as; our intention, why do we continue our studies, what makes us different from other participants so that we really deserve to receive the LPDP scholarship,” he explained.
“Then look at ourselves in the past, present and future. This is the part that many forget, but it is important. We have to believe in ourselves to prove ourselves,” he explained again. The event was attended by the Student Affairs and Alumni Division, UCC and LPDP ranks, LPDP scholarship recipients and participants from various circles. [UNESA PR]
