Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA - Opportunities to become young entrepreneurs are increasingly open. There are many programs to increase knowledge, skills and entrepreneurial spirit from the government and universities that can be used by students. One of them is the UNESA 2022 Student Entrepreneurial Program (PMW).
PMW is a program to develop student skills in entrepreneurship and is profit-oriented. The program is carried out by the UNESA Career Center (UCC) Unit. The goal is to provide knowledge, skills, attitudes and entrepreneurial spirit (entrepreneurship) and to create young entrepreneurs who are educated, tough and have global competitiveness.
Salamun Rohman Nudin, S.Kom., M.Kom., Head of the UNESA UCC Unit explained that the success of PMW can be seen from 3 indicators, namely 1) student participation in PMW; 2) the success of students running their businesses as entrepreneurs; and 3) the establishment of venture capital as a model for entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurship development institutions that can coordinate entrepreneurial activities in universities.
For recipients of PMW funds, intensive assistance is provided by mentors from professional entrepreneurs in similar business fields. The assistance is an effort to sustain the program so that it can develop. One of the mentoring programs is through a business incubator.
"There are so many benefits that students can get in this program, including getting business development grants, mentoring from professional entrepreneurs and of course invaluable experience in the business world," he said. The Head of the UCC Unit invited all students who have an interest and interest in the field of entrepreneurship to participate and join the program. The stages of program registration are;
- PMW registration is open on 01–27 March 2022
- First stage selection; 28 March to 1 April 2022
- Announcement of the first stage of selection; April 6, 2022
- The second round of selection starts on April 16-17, 2022
- Announcement of funded PMW on April 19, 2022
- Participants who pass will receive a Centralized PMW briefing on April 23, 2022
- Business internships will be held from 1 May to 30 June 2022
- Monev 1 PMW Activities on 5-7 August 2022
- 2 PMW monev activities on 21-23 October 2022
- Final report submission on 18-20 November 2022
Salamun Rohman Nudin added, there are 5 business categories that students must prepare, including culinary, cultivation, creative industries, services and technology. This program directly targets active Unesa students batch 2019, 2020 and 2021. "Create a business idea in a proposal format according to guidelines and templates, adapt it to consumer and market needs, can solve problems (problem solving), update and unique business ideas," he explained.
