Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—In an effort to improve athlete performance and the effectiveness of coach strategies, the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK) team Surabaya State University (Unesa) developed an application Android-based statistics to help petanque athletes and coaches evaluate match results.
This application is specifically designed to record, analyze and present statistical data in real-time. This innovation offers superior features such as automatic score recording, throwing accuracy analysis, and game strategy evaluation.
With a simple and intuitive interface, coaches can easily access each athlete's performance data and determine more effective strategies for next match.
The developer of this application stated that this technology is an innovative solution for the sport of petanque which previously still depended on manual recording. Through graphic features and detailed reports, athletes can understand their strengths and weaknesses objectively.
"With this application, we can immediately analyze match results and improve game strategies more quickly and precisely. This is very helpful in preparing "Athletes face national and international competitions," said one of the coaches of the Unesa petanque team.
Apart from that, this application also equipped with performance comparison features between players and match history, which allows coaches to carry out comprehensive evaluations. Athletes can also take advantage of the independent training feature with strategy simulations provided in the application.
The use of this application is expected to be a new breakthrough in developing petanque athletes in Indonesia, as well as supporting achievements on the international stage. In the future, the developer plans to continue to improve the feature and expand its use in various other sports.
With the integration of this technology, petanque athletes and coaches can now make more accurate and effective data-based decisions, speed up the evaluation process, and improve the overall quality of training.
As part of efforts to introduce this application more widely, there will be an agenda for Socialization of the Use of Android-Based Applications in Scoring and Statistics of Petanque Matches. This event will be held on September 15 2025 at the New Kampret Petanque Field, Menganti Gresik.
This socialization aims to provide a comprehensive understanding to coaches, athletes and related parties regarding the features and benefits of this application in supporting match evaluation. It is hoped that through this activity, the use of the application can be implemented optimally in various petanque competitions in Indonesia.[*]
