Unesa.ac.id, Surabaya-Independent Study Unit for Independent Campus (MBKM) UNESA held a socialization of the Independent Campus Certified Internship and Study Program on Tuesday (06/07/2021). The event, which was held virtually, was attended by two speakers, namely Dr. Nanik Indahwati, M.Or Head of the Field Activities Practice Division – UNESA MBKM Unit and Muamar Zainul Arif, S.Pd, M.Pd PIC Certified Independent Study and Internship Program.
This Independent Campus Certified Internship and Study Program is an effort by the government to bridge and secure the availability of quality talent for national industries that need alternative solutions to get talent that matches the qualifications and matches the organizational culture, so that they can make a real contribution in a short period of time. long.
This program is also a collaborative program between partners from companies, organizations, government institutions, or start-ups and which provides opportunities for final year students or starting semester 5 to be able to explore, experience the real world of work while making a real contribution to applying fresh knowledge. through quality projects, teams, mentors and processes.
Starting his speech as well as the opening, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd., explained that one of the eight activity facilities in the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka is an opportunity for 3 semesters for students to be able to study 1 semester of study outside the study program on campus and or 2 semesters off campus. "Including that today we are participating in how the certified independent internship and study program is part of the MBKM implementation," he said.
According to him, the internship is a form of synergy between the world of campus and industry. Both must synergize in the vision of advancing generations and encouraging the growth of educational institutions and industry. In this synergy program, students can learn a lot about problem solving that is increasingly complex and further develop soft skills, the ability to work together, communication, and professional ethics.
He further explained that the program is a controlled, structured, accountable, and well-prepared process. “Partners cooperate with LSP. Once completed, the students will get a certificate, the program is at least one semester, he said.
In addition to optimizing programs facilitated by the LPDP organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture, UNESA also continues to collaborate independently with many parties. The latest is collaboration with the East Java Provincial Chamber of Commerce. "We have to give an answer that students need to know the world of work, need to know the industrial world and need to prepare for the future world that is relevant to expertise and science," he explained.
For educational students, mini projects can be carried out such as, students in the first semester must know the world of work and must have assignments at the nearest school to understand how students behave about the value of Pancasila. According to him, enough with three weeks of observation, students' closeness to the world of work can be realized.
Finally, he expressed his gratitude for holding the event. He encourages students to keep reaching for the future. "Knit from now on, use the opportunity for guidance from lecturers as well as possible for the future of the Indonesian nation," he shouted motivating.
