Unesa.ac.id, LAMONGAN-In strengthening the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) continues to synergize with various parties. Most recently, the 'One Step Ahead' campus signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the East Java Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI Jatim).
The MoU was signed by the Chancellor of UNESA Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., with the Chair of the East Java PWI, Luthfil Hakim at the Commemoration of the National Press Day at the East Java level, Saturday (26/3/2022) at the Lamongan Marine Tourism (WBL) which was witnessed by the ranks of officials and central to regional figures who were present, including the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa.
This commitment to cooperation is a form of synergy between universities and press institutions to strengthen the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education and the implementation of MBKM at UNESA. In addition, to create independence, comfort and welfare of the community.
“The press has a role as an important part of the pillars of democracy. Then higher education is also the key to educating and prospering society and the country. Both have the same goal with different approaches in building a society and Indonesia that continues to grow and progress," said Cak Hasan.
The realization of this cooperation can be in the form of education and training. UNESA has education, development and training experts who can collaborate for training and career development in journalism. It can also be in the form of research, webinars, publications and others.
Luthfil Hakim said that this collaboration was the first step in the transformation of a press institution that was more innovative, credible and of high quality. "Hopefully this cooperation will be a strategic step in strengthening press institutions to become problem solvers on all fronts," he hoped. [UNESA PR]
