Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Registration for the National Selection of State Universities (SNMPTN) opens today, Monday, February 14, 2022. For those who wish to study at the State University of Surabaya (UNESA), there is good news. A university that has two campuses; in Ketintang and Lidah Wetan, this year the quota for new student admissions has been increased, both on the SNMPTN, SBMPTN and SPMB or Mandiri pathways.
This is stated in the UNESA Chancellor's Decree on Determining the Accommodation of New Students for the Applied Undergraduate and Undergraduate Program for the Academic Year of 2022-2023. Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Bambang Yulianto, M.Pd., said that based on various considerations, there was indeed an increase in the ceiling for this year.
The UNESA's capacity for three new student admissions this year is 2,862 SNMPTN students, 5,038 SBMPTN students and 3,205 students on SPMB or Independent pathways.
"The increase in the ceiling for 74 UNESA study programs, one of which is to accommodate the high interest of Indonesian children to continue their studies at state universities. Then also to provide broad opportunities for the best sons and daughters and regional talents to improve competence in higher education," he explained at the UNESA Virtual Campus Expo, as well as launching the 2022 SNMPTN registration (Monday (14/02/2022) which was broadcast live on Youtube Unesa Official.

Before Registering, Pay Attention To The Following Tips
The UNESA Linguistics Professor also revealed several strategies that could be considered by schools, students and parents. First, pay attention to the distribution of the study programs chosen by the students. Do not let several students choose the same study program on the same campus. It is better to choose another study program on the same campus or the same study program at another campus.
He gave an example, for example there are 15 students from the same school, 7 of whom enroll in the same study program on the same campus. "If they are both good, the five people compete with their friends from the school, even though for example the quota for each school is a maximum of two or three people," he explained.
Second, it is necessary to pay attention to the level of competition in the selected study program. Therefore, schools, students or parents can find out in advance information about the study program and the destination campus. If you are at UNESA, you can directly visit the admisi.unesa.ac.id page. There directly there is data on student admissions from the previous year which can be used as a reference for study program competition at UNESA.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sukarmin, M.Pd., Head of the UNESA Admissions Unit continued. The third tip, for participants who register, it is better not to cross fields or from IPA to IPS or vice versa. Basically it doesn't matter. However, he emphasized, participants should not only think about how to get into college, but also have to think about how the lecture process will be. "Don't let it pass, and don't re-register because the study program is not in demand. Moreover, now there are rules, for those who have passed and did not re-register, they will not be able to register for UTBK," he explained.
Fourth, prospective registrants must study the suitability of the report card scores with the intended study program. Highly recommended if the intended study program is linear with the majors while in SMA, SMK or MA. Fifth, study the ceiling or the capacity of the destination campus so that you can measure your abilities with existing opportunities. Then, if you have national or international achievements, include a portfolio of these achievements when registering.
Sixth, the uploaded certificate is prioritized according to the intended study program. For example, the 1st winner of the National Poetry Competition will get high points when entering the Indonesian Literature study program and so on. Or, the 1st place winner of the National Mathematics Olympiad will get big points when entering the Mathematics study program or study program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA). "Prepare yourself as best you can, pay close attention to the terms and conditions of the SNMPTN," he ordered.
Meanwhile, Vinda Maya Setianingrum, S.Sos., M.A., the Head of Public Relations of UNESA said that in addition to the tips above, it is also necessary to pay attention to the completeness of candidates' provisions such as report cards, portfolios, certificates and school qualifications as the determining points for the assessment. “Maximize if there is a certificate, choose the 3 best certificates to upload. Unesa also recognizes certificates in religious events or competitions to be a value-adding point in this SNMPTN, valid for all majors," he said. [UNESA PR]
