Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-In order to welcome Human Rights Day on December 10, 2021, the East Java Regional Police held a National Police Cup Demonstration Oration Competition at the East Java Police Headquarters Field on Sunday, December 5, 2021. On that occasion, the AMAN KESAL team (Anti- Bullying and Sexual Violence Society) team Sendratasik, Department of Art, Drama, Dance and Music (Sendratasik) UNESA performed well and managed to come out as the first winner. They will represent East Java at the national level competition at the National Police Headquarters on December 10, 2021.
The AMAN KESAL team, under the guidance of Arif Hidajad, S.Sn, M.Pd., consists of 18 members, each of whom is divided into several roles. They are M. Khotib Hidayatullah (correspondent), Syina Dalia (orator), Juwita Aisyah Y. (actor), Fikrry Nirwannanda P.P. (music), Duwi Rahma D. (poetry), as a pantomimer.
Then, Shofi Sotya S. and M. Zakariya, as karapan. Then there are Afgatha Yora P. and Yoga Yan W., in the crew section. In addition, Siti Mei S., Nabila Permatasari, Septa Amien, and Bunga Flamboyan as Humanoids. Also included are Nur Azizah O, Elvajri Dhika Y, Andrian Fistyohana F, Badi' Maulana S and Yans Alloydia P.H.
The AMAN KESAL team raised the issue of bullying and sexual violence. This is of course justified, because currently the number of sexual violence is increasing and is not comparable to the existing laws and regulations that specifically regulate sexual violence, especially in protecting victims and providing a sense of security for the community. Their speeches were packaged in the form of demonstrations combined with pantomime, theater, and humanoid performances.
Syina, one of the team members explained that initially they received information about the competition from their supervisor, then they began to coordinate for the show and production, thus forming the AMAN KESAL Team. Its members consist of students from Sendratasik with a concentration in Drama and one musician from a concentration in music.
Support from all parties, from ballet theater, departments, faculties to the rectorate made them motivated to practice and package their oration to the fullest. As a result, the process did not betray the results, they managed to become champions and shift 41 other teams. "What we present to UNESA in this competition is an experience, a motivation for us so that in the future we can be even better and get more achievements," he said.
Syina said that the biggest motivation for participating in the competition was as a 'theater worship' and wanting to experience good and effective speeches and demonstrations. In addition, behind their actions and speeches, they convey messages about conditions that must be considered together, namely sexual violence whose cases are getting crazier.
According to them, orations are not merely playing with words, but can also convey messages through various actions and 'performances'. In addition, effective action does not only smell physical and anarchic. “We want to show our ways of giving speeches and demonstrations and how to convey good and ethical aspirations. One of them is the packaging that we show in this competition,” he said.
Even though they dominate at the East Java level, their task is not yet complete. Their target in the future is to be able to give their best performance in national level competitions at the National Police Headquarters. It was not easy, but they did not want to give up let alone despair.
The AMAN KESAL team is committed to doing their best, not only to win, but also to bring new colors to speeches and convey aspirations. "We continue to train and of course with passion and confidence, we will give our best performance for our team, alma mater and society in general," he said. "Please pray and support, hopefully we can make UNESA and East Java proud at the national level," he hoped. [UNESA PR]
