Unesa.ac.id. , SURABAYA—Indonesian Language and Literature Education (PBSI) Undergraduate Study Program class of 2023 holds Nawasena, presenting eight drama performances on December 18 2024 at the UNESA Sawunggaling Performance Building, Lidah Wetan Campus.
Nuansa Appreciation of Student Art and Drama (Nawasena), philosophizing activities that are expected to be oriented towards becoming a forum for students to appreciate and explore literature and art.
Different from the Indonesian Literature Undergraduate Study Program which previously presented Dramaloka as a class drama performance, the Undergraduate Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI) presents student dramas per class.
PBSI-A presents "RT.0 RW.0", PBSI-B presents "The Land of Academics", PBSI-C presents "Shamans", PBSI-D presents "House Masked with Lies", PBSI-E is entitled "Putri", PBSI-F is performing "Kartini", PBSI-G is performing "Putri Kadita", and finally PBSI-I is entitled "Jaka Tarub”.
PBSI-F's successful performance of "Kartini" which, as the title suggests, tells the story of the life of R.A. Kartini and her struggle to break the shackles of the traditional order that marginalized women.
They highlight aspects of women's emancipation which were stigmatized by education at that time, showing how patriarchal domination cornered the nature and existence of women.
Muhammad Budi Setiyo, the chief executive of Nawasena, this activity is not just for UAS practicum, but because this year the name Nawasena was born; The hope is that Nawasena will become the initial milestone of the annual performance presented exclusively by PBSI.
"So that it can become a significant annual progress for PBSI when there are courses that require theatrical drama performances," he said.
This activity is part of the Final Semester Examination (UAS) practicum for the Drama Appreciation course taught by Titik Indarti. The lecturer of the course said that students, apart from needing to study theory and concepts, must also have practical experience related to their knowledge.
"Hopefully this will be a forum to equip PBSI students later when they are involved in MBKM, both MSIB and PLP and in the community. "Because before the prospective teachers we educate teach their students, they will not only understand the theory but also deepen the practice," he hoped.
Moch. Fanny A, from Informatics Engineering, as a visitor, said, "The drama entitled "House with the Mask of Lies" which conveys the reality of the dynamics of student stories in the lecture environment is interesting.
The packaging of the story is creative because it is combined with an issue that is currently viral, a moral message what was conveyed was very relevant to the audience, the majority of whom were students. [*]
