Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—The leadership of Surabaya State University (UNESA) attended the invitation to launch the book of the Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Minister of PAN RB), Abdullah Azwar Anas at the Birawa Assembly Hall, Hotel Bidakara, Jakarta, on Thursday 10 October 2024.
The book that was launched was entitled Anti Mainstream Bureaucracy: Strategy for Transforming Bureaucracy written by the minister of PAN RB. This book generally contains institutional governance strategies, and achievements and successful tips implemented to reform bureaucracy in Indonesia.The Chancellor of UNESA, Nurhasan, who is familiarly called Cak Hasan, welcomed the presence of this book which can serve as a guide important for leaders, officials and employees of an agency, including leaders, academics or members of the university community.
“Dynamics at the global and domestic levels are challenges in carrying out bureaucratic transformation. Innovative leaps and breakthroughs are needed so that institutions can continue to progress, be adaptive and have an impact. "The breakthrough is in the book, Mas Minister Azwar Anas," he said.
According to him, apart from its significance in the midst of today's challenges, the book also has strong legitimacy, considering that the KemenPAN RB has been led by Abdullah Azwar Anas since 2022- 2024 plays an important role in accelerating bureaucratic transformation in Indonesia.
"The anti-mainstream strategy explained in this book is interesting and can be a reference for us in improving the quality of higher education governance that is more innovative and adaptive to challenges and needs in the future," he continued.
Also present on the agenda, UNESA Deputy Chancellor II for Legal Management, Finance, Resources and Business, Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri, appreciated the presence of the book. According to him, the KemenPAN RB-style bureaucratic transformation model must become an orchestrated principle or value to achieve the mutually expected goals in each institution.
In the context of higher education governance in Indonesia, bureaucratic transformation is a necessity in realizing the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045 through strengthening human resources. Transformative values are an important foundation for UNESA in realizing Indonesia's educational goals and grand vision.
“Policies and breakthroughs are the key to the success of UNESA's transformation from PTN-BLU to PTN-BH with a global reputation. "We also focus on the effectiveness and impact of performance which we continue to strengthen, one of which is best practicefor bureaucratic management in the book MenPAN RB," said the UNESA education expert.[]
