Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–All levels of university leadership to faculties and UNESA environmental directorates held a meeting regarding the QS World University Rankings in the Auditorium, Rectorate, on Thursday, 12 October 2023.
Director of Innovation, Ranking and Scientific Publications, Prof. Nadi Suprapto, M.Pd., Ph.D., on that occasion explained tips obtained at THE World Academic Summit in Sydney some time ago.
In achieving the World Class University (WCU) target, UNESA needs to increasing the quality and quantity of research and publications and their impact on the academic and global community. For this reason, there needs to be a strategy that can be implemented, such as increasing publications in Scopus journals.
"To get there, our plan, the UNESA academic community, will be to have a one Scopus, one lecturer program. Lecturers are encouraged to have at least 1 Scopus work. "We already have SIMIA to make it easier for UNESA members who want to publish articles on Scopus," he said.
Apart from that, we also need to add lecturers from abroad for guest lectures, keynote speakers, visiting professors, research collaborations, collaborations. paper as an effort to carry out mutualistic symbiosis by giving each other votes in both QS and THE.
“Through cooperation with various foreign parties, such as MoU, MoA, and IA, we can benefit each other by providing support regarding academic reputation and staff reputation, of course this must be conveyed "explicitly so that there is no miscommunication," he said.
Apart from that, he continued, all UNESA academics are encouraged to use English versions of business cards, flyers and even brochures. This can make it easier to introduce UNESA abroad.
"We are also optimizing foreign graduate lecturers to be proactive in establishing relationships with UNESA so that later they can contribute to improving the quality of human resources at UNESA," he explained.
Vice Chancellor III, Division Research, Community Service, Innovation, Publications and Rankings, Junaidi Budi Prihanto, S.KM., M.KM., Ph.D., gave advice to active lecturers to help encourage inactive lecturers to participate in Scopus writing .
"Learning from Unair, they have a research group according to their research interests, and this research is funded, which is extraordinary for boosting the quality of publications," he said.
Learning more from other universities , there is writing training as well as grammar check facilities, assistance in evaluating English writing, which can later improve publications.
"We are trying to improve UNESa's reputation internationally, therefore collaboration must be further optimized with external parties country," he added.
In this activity, an evaluation of the Teaching and Learning Process (PBM) is also carried out every semester with a discussion of student complaints regarding UKT, learning, infrastructure and student activities. []
