Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA) is committed to continuing to strengthen institutional governance and improve its reputation at the international level. This is demonstrated by the 'Home of Champions' campus through its involvement in various international activities and world rankings such as QS Asia University Rankings (QS-AUR), QS World University Rankings (QS-WUR) and Times Higher Education (THE).
< p>Most recently, UNESA leadership took part in the QS Higher Education Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 which took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 7-9 November 2023. In the activity with the theme "Creating the Right Outcomes: Universities and the Future of Work in the Asia Pacific" Today, UNESA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., said, this activity brings together hundreds of universities throughout Asia.There are several main reasons for the importance of this event, including responding to recent trends such as the demographic gap in East Asia with decreasing numbers births which have an impact on the decline in the number of young people of productive and college age.
Apart from that, it is also related to the acceleration of the impact of artificial intelligence or AI in all aspects of human life. "This activity is very important for UNESA to respond to global issue trends and be involved together to answer various challenges in various aspects," said Cak Hasan (UNESA Chancellor's nickname).
Prof. Dr. Sri Setyo Iriani, S.E., M.Si, Head of Sub-Directorate for Domestic Rankings and UNESA Ranking Organisation, added that this activity discussed many aspects such as global engagement, employability and outcomes, research and discovery, sustainability, innovation and knowledge transfer.
< p>"Apart from that, it also discusses student demand, student motivation and behavior, student conversion, program demand and learning experience to increase UNESA's international reputation," said the lecturer and professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).< p>With UNESA's involvement, it is hoped that UNESA's international networking and collaboration will increase. Not only that, the results of this activity will also include follow-up in the form of improving academic and employee reputation through improving the governance of the academic atmosphere, human resources and institutional business processes.There were a number of speakers who attended and delivered material in this forum, including Prof. Edward Peck as Vice Chancellor and President at Nottingham Trent University with the main topic Global Engagement Strategy.
Apart from that, there were also Matthias Lanouhe as Director of International Strategy, APAC/LATAM/Canada who explained about 'Contribute and Work Together between Higher Education with Industrial Partners in Order to Achieve a Sustainable City'.
The campus leadership has the motto 'Growing with The characters were present in the activity which involved 197 universities and 1,200 participants. Starting from the Chancellor of UNESA, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.
